The Tasmanian Community Fund is pleased to welcome Amanda French as a new Board Director.

She is best known as the Founder and former CEO of Dress for Success Tasmania, which she established in 2019 to support women facing barriers to employment, assisting hundreds of women each year to build confidence and develop skills to enter or re‑enter the workforce.

Amanda said the TCF plays such an important role in enabling community organisations to deliver meaningful impact in the Tasmanian community and she is truly honoured to now contribute to that work as a Board member.

“Having written many grant applications to the Tasmanian Community Fund over the years - including the application that helped bring Dress for Success to Tasmania - this appointment feels like a full circle moment,” she said.

Amanda has spent her career working across the not‑for‑profit and community sectors, including roles in suicide prevention, drug and alcohol services and child protection. She is widely recognised for her ability to build partnerships, drive community‑led initiatives and advocate for greater equity and opportunity for women and vulnerable communities.

She currently serves as Manager, Community at RACT, leading statewide road safety education and engagement initiatives that aim to create positive outcomes for Tasmanian communities.

Amanda’s governance experience includes service on the national board of Make‑A‑Wish Australia. Her leadership has been acknowledged through her nomination as a Tasmanian Australian of the Year Local Hero. She holds a Master of Criminology and Corrections, a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Law, and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. In 2025, she was appointed to the Tasmanian Women’s Council.

Welcome Amanda!
