Let's Fly Together
Project North’s ‘Let's Fly Together 2025’, proved to be another outstanding success with community attending from all over Launceston’s Northern Suburbs to try their hand at kite flying – no mean feat with the wind we’ve been experiencing this spring!
Project North is an initiative from City Mission North & North West.
People gathered at the football grounds at the University of Tasmania’s Newnham campus to put their kite flying skills to the test in a celebration of intergenerational connection and community spirit.
City Mission's manager for community development Ray Green, said 'Let's Fly Together' was about strengthening community bonds and having fun.
"It's a great way to bring together different demographics, people like young children, older people that love to fly kites," Mr Green said.
The Community Together 7248 action group who organised the event expressed their deepest thanks to all the community organisations that supported them on the day and leading up to the event the Tasmanian Community Fund for being the major supporter.
