    Carl Gallagher

    Manager

    Carl joined the Tasmanian Community Fund in July 2025, bringing experience across local government, strategy, community engagement, sustainability, and community development.

    As Manager, Carl oversees the Fund’s operations and grantmaking, supporting clear, well-informed advice to the Board and contributing to the Fund’s strategic development, operational improvement, and grantmaking practice.

    His work focuses on strengthening the connection between funding decisions, community capability, and long-term impact. Carl works with applicants, communities, and partners to clarify intent, strengthen project design, and support initiatives that are locally grounded, well governed, and capable of contributing to lasting change across Tasmania.

    Cheryl Walker

    Project and Administrative Officer

    Cheryl commenced with the Tasmanian Community Fund in 2017.

    She brings extensive administrative experience and a strong understanding of community organisations and the people they support. In her role, Cheryl provides essential coordination and administrative support across the Fund’s grant-making, governance and operational activities.

    Her knowledge of TCF’s systems, processes and funded projects contributes to the consistent and effective delivery of the Fund’s work.

    Justin King

    Client Manager

    Justin joined the Tasmanian Community Fund in June 2026.

    He has worked across project, engagement and policy roles in the Tasmanian Government, including in parks, conservation and community-focused programs. This experience has shaped a strong interest in locally led initiatives and the relationships that enable them to succeed.

    As Client Manager, Justin supports applicants and funded organisations to develop and deliver projects that respond to community priorities and create practical, lasting benefits for Tasmanians.

    Leanne Johannesen

    Client Manager

    Leanne joined the Tasmanian Community Fund in September 2024 with a background in community development and project management, having held both paid and volunteer positions in the not-for-profit sector. She has a deep interest in strengthening communities and is committed to making a positive difference. In her current role as Client Manager, Leanne focuses on building strong community relationships, supporting projects that promote student engagement and wellbeing.

    Leanne is currently on maternity leave and will return in 2027.
