Heywire hits the hustings

The ABC Heywire team have recently wrapped up the first (and largest) round of school workshops across the Tamar Valley.

ABC Producers have been in classrooms delivering storytelling workshops to young people throughout the George Town, West Tamar, and Launceston local government areas.

11 schools have engaged with the workshops and the team report they are already seeing some phenomenal stories take shape.

The young people involved have reflected on migration, belonging and food, with one young person delivering a powerful account of how they have overcome addiction and turned their life around. And, of course, there are plenty of good fishing stories in the mix for good measure!

The workshop team will be heading to Launceston to facilitate workshops with Kings Meadows High School, Queechy High School, St Patrick’s College and Newstead College.
