Governance for Social Impact - Launceston
In March we had an enthusiastic and passionate group of community leaders undertake Governance for Social Impact training through the Centre of Social Impact through the University of New South Wales in Launceston.
Training was delivered by Dr Lyndsey McKee, National Industry Director from the Centre of Social Impact and Shamal Dass, Head of Family Advisory and Philanthropic Services at JBWere.
The feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive.
School Food Matters Chair Kath Wilson said she found the training to be one of the most valuable courses she had attended in recent years.
“The facilitators brought a wealth of experience and communicated complex concepts with clarity and impact,” Kath said.
“The content was highly relevant to both my board and executive responsibilities, equipping me with practical tools and strategic insights to navigate the increasingly complex and challenging environment facing organisations today.”
Bell Bay Advanced Manufacturing Zone Director Sarah FitzGerald said she found the training well structured and grounded in credible governance principles.
“It provided a clear framework for integrating social value into decision making,” Sarah said.
“I expect to apply this learning by strengthening how social considerations are embedded into project governance, stakeholder engagement and future Board discussions.”
Governance for Social Impact Training will be held in Hobart on the 9 and 10 November, 2026. Apply here
