Connected and Educated Children and Young People

The Tasmanian Community Fund (TCF) is committed to supporting projects that remove barriers and help children and young people (aged 8 to 19) stay engaged with learning and connected to their communities.
Expressions of Interest are now open for the 2026 Connected and Educated Children and Young People grant round and close at 5:00pm, Saturday 15 November 2025. Funding of up to $1.5 million per project is available.
One of the compulsory criteria's for applying is to speak with staff about your project. Please discuss your project idea with Tasmanian Community Fund staff – the earlier in the process, the better.

Projects should address one or more of the following:
- Innovative solutions that support ongoing engagement with learning for 8–19 year olds.
- Supporting smooth transitions between learning stages (primary to secondary, secondary to college, college to TAFE, university, or work).
- Improving digital literacy and access for young people and enabling their families to support them.
- Collaborative community approaches that boost literacy, numeracy, and financial literacy.
- Initiatives that support the wellbeing, happiness, and resilience of children and young people.
- Ensuring every 8–19 year old has access to at least one nutritious meal per day—at school, home, or in the community.
- Increasing employment pathways for 16–19 year olds.
- Building the capacity of employers to engage and support young people in the workplace.
Following the Expression of Interest (EOI) stage, applicants who progress to Stage 2 will work closely with Tasmanian Community Fund staff to refine their proposal. This flexible development phase will run through to mid-November 2026, culminating in a full Stage 2 application.
