Governance for Social Impact

The Tasmanian Community Fund (TCF) recognise the value of building capacity at all levels across the community and we are particularly keen to support community organisations to develop and prosper.
We have provided a grant to the Centre of Social Impact through the University of New South Wales to provide Governance for Social Impact training.
The first intake of participants found the course extremely valuable.
Don’t miss your chance to take part!

Palliative Care Tasmania’s Chief Executive Officer Veney Hiller reflects on her experience from participating in the program earlier this year.
I want to thank the Tasmanian Community Fund for the incredible opportunity to participate in the Governance for Social Impact program.
The two-days were filled with essential learning alongside a dedicated and inspirational group of Tasmanians from across the for-purpose sector.
Having a room full of peers from a wide range of organisations provided a unique opportunity to not only absorb the content in a collaborative way but to share a common language and a commitment to make real change in Tasmania.
The course was conducted by the Centre for Social Impact and it:
- Addressed the complexities of social purpose leadership
- Showed us how to effectively govern in complex social ecosystems
- Provided us with tools to create change
- Explored what it means to govern with a ‘mission-first’ agenda
- Gave insights into what effective leadership looks like
- Showed us how to measure what matters most, for the people who matter most.
The facilitators Shamal Dass and Jane Hunt were exceptional in leading a thought-provoking program.
The training equipped me with practical tools that has benefited not only my own professional development but was also something I was able to bring back to my team and board and ultimately the communities we serve.
Even though two-days out of the office is a lot for people to take away from daily priorities, I think every person there realised just how important and meaningful it was.
