Highlands Greenhouse near completion

The Great Lake Community Centre Extension Project is nearing completion, with an expected opening in February 2024.

“The building looks amazing,” committee member Toni Glowaki said.

“Seeing the greenhouse up and looking wonderful, our community are getting excited to see how much we can grow.”

The improvement of the community garden and the upgraded greenhouse will allow residents to get healthy food year-round.

“The garden will improve healthier food choices, build new gardening friendships, create a common talking point in the community, and allow residents to share gardening knowledge,” Toni said.

“We are excited to see how the greenhouse preforms during our winter.”

“We are so lucky and grateful to the Tasmanian Community Fund, Federal government and all our contributors, for believing in our community.”

In an area often experiencing inclement and cold weather, the garden will be a place of quiet contemplation for the community to come together.
