Waverley Primary School celebrates kitchen and dining hall opening

Waverley Primary School recently celebrated a major milestone with the official opening of its new Kitchen and Dining Hall.
The project was made possible thanks to the support of the Tasmanian Community Fund (TCF), along with the WD Booth Charitable Trust, the John Lewis Foundation, the Cape Hope Foundation and the Cuthill Family Trust.
Their combined contributions turned the school’s long-held vision into reality and is a great example of collaboration among funders and supporters.
Additional thanks were extended to School Food Matters for providing essential kitchen equipment, which will ensure the space is directly linked to healthy, nutritious meals for students.
The Kitchen and Dining Hall will fuel the school’s breakfast program five days a week, provide hot lunches three days a week, expand cooking classes for students and families, offer café and barista training, and serve as a welcoming hub for community events.
This new facility will also support student confidence, teamwork, leadership, literacy and numeracy while strengthening food security across the community.
