Be Hers Empowering Women

The Tasmanian Community Fund (TCF) is supporting the Be Hers Foundation to deliver a holistic program that helps strengthen women’s confidence, enables them to reconnect with education and builds theirpractical skills for the future.

Designed for participants facing challenges such as mental health pressures, financial hardship and social isolation, the program offers one to one mentoring, group sessions and accredited workshops in partnership with TAFE Tasmania.

Training opportunities span fashion and textiles, cosmetics, retail and hospitality, supported by additional workshops in financial literacy, nutrition, job readiness and personal wellbeing.

The foundation recently celebrated the graduation of its Dream Again participants and announced the opening of the Dream Again Cafe, which will expand training options in hospitality.

Career counselling, resume support, interview preparation and job shadowing placements help participants explore employment pathways and gain experience in real workplaces.

Local employers and community organisations play an important role by offering hands on opportunities and mentorship.

A strong focus on belonging and inclusion underpins the program.  Community activities, cultural events and team projects help participants build friendships, reduce isolation and gain confidence in new environments.

This year, Be Hers supported seventy women across its Youth Hub and multicultural programs, providing counselling, mentoring and practical support including access to a community pantry and legal assistance.

The TCF is proud to support Be Hers as it creates safe, inclusive spaces where women can grow, feel valued and move towards education, employment and a positive future.
