Budding beekeepers

The young beekeepers had the amazing opportunity to learn how to dissect bees, with the help of volunteer Charles Connor, and use the new microscopes. There were many young budding scientists amongst the crew.
"There are so many great opportunities here to help us learn and heaps of people who are kind and willing to lend us a hand," Elizabeth (15).
"Bees are my best friends, I love coming here and learning everything I can about them," Etta (9).
Learning can happen in many locations, not just classroom. Young people need an opportunity to explore and connect through a variety of opportunities to really find their passion.
The Tasmanian Junior Beekeepers program is removing barriers to learning for the young participants and educating the wider community about the importance of bees to our environment.
Thanks to the dedicated volunteers, passionate children and their parents for the part they play in the program.
