Goodbye Andrew

The Tasmanian Community Fund Board and staff thank Andrew MacGregor for his contribution as a member of the Board.

Andrew’s term will come to a conclusion on 31 December when he will have served six years on the Board and brought a diverse range of experience and skills, knowledge of communities and networks to the Board.

Andrew will be missed by us all. Below are some of his personal reflections on his time on the Board.

My six-year term with the TCF has been a wonderful period of learning, collaborating, camaraderie and hard work. Most importantly, I have had the privilege to assist in the process of granting community funds to support Tasmanian not-for-profit organisations to deliver much-needed services to their communities (both geographical and social).

One example is the work undertaken by the TCF team to learn more about our Tasmanian Aboriginal community and to provide appropriate support to that community. This is best exemplified by the early commitment by the TCF to provide funding to support the YES campaign, well before it became a political hot potato.

Tasmania is so lucky to have the TCF and it is incumbent on all Tasmanians to ensure that it remains in place as an independent funding body that can work to facilitate the development of strong vibrant communities across our state.
