What Capability Building can support

The program has two streams.

Community Leadership and People Capability

Supporting the development of people who contribute to their communities.

This may include:

  • community leadership development
  • skills and knowledge development
  • mentoring and peer learning
  • strengthening participation and community leadership
  • developing the confidence and capability of people to contribute to community life.

Organisational and Sector Capability

Supporting organisations, networks and sectors to become stronger and more effective.

This may include:

  • governance and organisational development
  • strategic and business planning
  • workforce and volunteer capability
  • collaboration and partnership development
  • strengthening systems, processes or ways of working
  • evaluation, learning and impact capability
  • developing approaches that can strengthen a broader sector or network.

What we are looking for

Strong proposals will clearly explain:

  • what capability needs to be strengthened
  • why this matters
  • who will benefit
  • how the activity will lead to stronger capability over time
  • how the learning or benefit will continue beyond the funded activity.
