Welcome to the Tasmanian Community Fund.

We make grants to community organisations that make a difference by enhancing well-being and improving social, environmental and economic outcomes for the Tasmanian Community.

The Board conducts two grant programs:

General Grant Programs
The Board conducts two general grants programs annually. The aim of this program is to distribute funds across a broad range of community projects state-wide.

Targeted Initiatives Program
The aim of this program is to identify and fund specific sector initiatives that have the capacity to achieve significant and sustainable benefits for the Tasmanian community.

Grant Recipient of the Month:

The Launceston Walking Club Inc

In 2005, the TCF held a special Preserving and Promoting Tasmania’s Cultural Heritage funding round.  Under that round, funding of $2 million was allocated to 31 projects around the State which increased awareness and enjoyment of Tasmania’s past.

TCF News

Treasury's Proposed New Funding Program

Treasury has released a discussion paper on replacing the non-political Tasmanian Community Fund and the Government's Community Support Levy with a new funding program. The Board encourages the community to respond to this Treasury paper by 19 June 2009. Click on the following link to access the paper on Treasury's website.

The Board believes the community's interests are best served through access to a non-political funding body. To assist the community in assessing Treasury's proposal, more details on the Board's preliminary response are available here: TCF Response.

Grant Round 19
Grant Round 19 will open on 18 July and close 27 August. Guidelines will be available in early July.

Complaint Resolution Policy
We have introduced a complaint resolution policy to add to our accountability and transparency.

Survey of Applicants
In February 2009, the TCF engaged Myriad Consultancy, a professional firm specialising in market research, to undertake a survey of applicants during 2008. Please follow these links to view the following PDFs: a note about the survey from the Board, and the executive summary of the final report.
